This listing is for a vintage Japanese furoshiki - a very handy, sturdy, multi-use wrapping cloth used in Japan.  

This silk furoshiki is a light peach pink and features playfully floating abstract florals. The flowers - irises and plum blossoms - are a bit stylized in their appearance and shaded in gray, pink, and red.

Unfortunately, there are some blemishes. See last photo. Priced accordingly Best for piecework.

Artistic furoshiki (often silk) are traditionally used as gift wrap but also make creative wall or table displays. Furoshiki in solid colors or with printed patterns (often cotton or rayon) are more casual versions used for shopping, transporting goods, or storing items at home. These days furoshiki are popular as upcycled grocery totes or to carry whatever we used to carry in a non-recyclable plastic bag.
