This listing is for a vintage Japanese maru-style obi.  Maru are usually the most expensive version of an obi since they are 14" wide for the full length and patterned on both sides, even though one side will never be seen by the public. Maru obi are worn for the most formal occasions, such as weddings.

This obi showcases a series of traditional motifs including soshi (small booklet), makimono (pair of scrolls), and tsuru (cranes). Don't miss the beautiful mums as well.

Lovely color scheme - light brown, orange, purple, cream, and dark green. Not too flashy, but some nice pops of color against more subtle shades. Look closely to see the pine and geometric repeats like shippo (overlapping circles) and concentric diamonds.

If you need a display rod for your obi, you can add one at check out.

See videos below for info about the different styles of obi as well as ways to display them.
