This listing is for a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). An uchikake is draped over top of a kakeshita kimono, left open without an obi, and has a padded hem as it was once meant to trail across the floor behind the bride. 

This uchikake has a bright green silk background with cresting ocean waves in gold. Beautiful cranes (tsuru) fly calmly over the roiling seas beneath. Each crane is masterfully woven in white with accent colors - orange, blue, purple - on the wings. Cranes are common on wedding kimono as they mate for life and symbolize longevity and fidelity.
