This listing is for a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). An uchikake is draped over top of a kakeshita kimono underlayer, left open without an obi, and has a padded hem as it was once meant to trail across the floor behind the bride. 

This uchikake is an artist's masterpiece of beautifully balanced colors and a bright, elaborate design. The background is like a sunset, red at the shoulders changing to yellow, then green and finally to black at the hem.

Displayed on the back is a dazzling scene with a flowing stream across the hem and a garden of florals growing or floating above, and a series of cranes flying above it all. 

All of the elements have an iridescent shimmer to the color, especially the cranes. The florals are plentiful with peonies, plum blossoms, irises, and mums.
