This listing is for a vintage Japanese maru-style obi. Learn more about this type of kimono below.

There is something almost sacred about cranes in flight, and this cream maru obi captures that symbolism in luminous woven silk. Mirrored cranes spread their wings in rhythmic symmetry, their feathers rendered in textured jacquard that catches the light with quiet elegance. The soft ivory background creates a celebratory refinement, making it equally stunning for bridal styling, formal kimono, or as a dramatic textile for display.

There are signs of age including a visible fold line in some sections and a few small spots -  gentle reminders of its history.

Maru are the most formal and usually the most expensive version of an obi since they are wide for the full length and patterned on both sides, even though one side will never be seen by the public. Maru obi are usually reserved for weddings and similar important events.

If you need a display rod for your obi, you can add one at check out.
