This listing is for a vintage - possibly antique - Japanese maru-style obi.  Maru are usually the most expensive version of an obi since they are 14" wide for the full length and patterned on both sides, even though one side will never be seen by the public. Maru obi are worn for the most formal occasions, such as weddings.

This obi features a rich color palette - antique bronze, green, gold, brown. Wonderfully woven florals are repeated the entire width, length, and both sides.

This obi does have an unusual feature. It appears to have been altered in width about halfway down the length. So, it starts at 12.5" in width, then narrowed down on one side to 11". See the last photos that show this difference. Still wonderful to wear or display.
