This listing is for a traditional fukuro style obi. 

Strength meets shimmer in this commanding gold and black fukuro style obi. Oversized hexagons, inspired by traditional tortoise shell motifs (symbolizing longevity and resilience) glow in rich metallic gold against a dramatic black silk. The scale of the pattern gives it architectural impact, while the luminous weave shifts beautifully in the light.

Fully patterned on the front. The backside features its exposed lining - a solid, black-colored fabric.  The front fabric wraps around the back several inches and is hand-sewn in place.

The width is slightly narrower at 10.5" rather than the typical 12-14" width. The narrow width, lack of blank section, and shimmering design, suggests this obi was made for a performance or celebration.
