A set of four drink coasters (or candle mats!) made with repurposed vintage Japanese obi fabric. Obi (the traditional kimono sash) are usually made with a sturdy weave, which makes salvaged obi pieces perfect for these fairly stiff, durable coasters. The are reversible, with obi fabric on both sides.

This coaster set was made from a contemporary, heavily woven cotton obi with an abstract black-on-red geometric pattern.

The edges are finished with pinking sheers for a crisp look. Where the original obi was lined, we kept the lining in place to provide a stiffer, more firm coaster.

This set comes in an organza pouch - perfect as a modest hostess gift.
