This is a casual han obi.  Learn more about this type of kimono below.

Like a page from a botanical sketchbook, this han obi blooms with expressive hand-painted florals across a softly striped background. Loose brushstrokes of crimson, coral, and blush blend with inky leaves and airy negative space, giving the entire obi an artistic, watercolor feel. The scale of the flowers and the lightness of the textile make it ideal for casual kimono or yukata styling, especially in warmer seasons.

There are signs of age with a few scattered small spots, but they do not detract for the desirability of this piece.

"Han" means "half" in Japanese. A han obi is a shorter, narrower obi traditionally worn with casual kimono or yukata, especially in warmer seasons. They are often easy to tie and feature playful or artistic designs for relaxed, everyday styling rather than formal occasions.
