This listing is for a vintage fukuro (formal) obi that we will choose for you. This listing is ideal for those who like a surprise and find all Japanese obi to be beautiful. This Japanese formal obi features a contemporary design with some interesting abstract elements. The central focus is a six-point star that seems to be three stylized cranes with deeply curved necks and gold feathers that resemble pine cones. Other large motifs include folding fans with green florals and a hexagon filled with a floral family crest.

This is a fukuro obi - wide for the entire length, plain on the backside and a patterned design only on the front. There is a one yard "blank" section on the front, as is common with contemporary fukuro obi, where some cost can be saved by leaving it blank where the first wrap layer of the belt portion occurs, since it doesn't show to the public.

Each is approximately 14 inches wide and 11 feet long.
