This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono. These lightweight, unlined cotton kimono were made for informal, everyday wear, with breathable construction well suited to warmer weather. Indigo-dyed fabrics and kasuri (ikat) weaving were commonly used for practical garments, creating durable textiles with distinctive softly blurred geometric, floral, and nature-inspired patterns.

A charming little indigo kimono with a beautifully graphic mix of traditional symbolism and geometric design. Cream ikat-woven lines form a fine grid across the deep indigo cotton, punctuated by repeating pine, bamboo, and plum motifs, the beloved Three Friends of Winter symbolizing resilience, steadfastness, and renewal.
