This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono. These lightweight, unlined cotton kimono were made for informal, everyday wear, with breathable construction well suited to warmer weather. Indigo-dyed fabrics and kasuri (ikat) weaving were commonly used for practical garments, creating durable textiles with distinctive softly blurred geometric, floral, and nature-inspired patterns.

A charming child’s indigo kimono scattered with tiny treasures and auspicious symbols, giving the deep blue fabric a playful storybook quality. The ikat-woven design features cream motifs, including a treasure bag, lucky mallet, hat and other takaramono, or "treasure" motifs traditionally associated with good fortune, prosperity and wishes for a fortunate life.

Tucks at the waist and each shoulder, but they can be removed if more length and width are desired.
