This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono and obi combination.

The kimono features a faux kanoko (fawn spot) and cloud pattern woven in a tone-on-tone jacquard. The color is a rich chocolate brown silk with a slight purple cast. These single-color kimono - called iromuji - are often worn by tea ceremony practitioners because their subtle beauty adds gently to - rather than distracting from - the tea ceremony ritual. They may be worn for many similar occasions - any time where an understated elegance would be appreciated.

The obi is a brocade-style weave of geometric grid with ornate florals in blue, a brown that matches the kimono, and a bit of metallic sheen. The backside is the same sky blue as the front.  Really a nice combination with the kimono!

The obi is a stylized nagoya type - only the tail end is folded over to half width (rather than the entire belt portion), so almost the entire length is wide (14") but there is a solid-colored section for about a yard which would be hidden under the final layer of obi.

See the videos below to learn about obi and how to dress in kimono.
