This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono and obi combination.

The kimono features a sweet silk in the color of hojicha - japanese roasted green tea - in a stenciled komon (shark skin) motif. This pattern of small concentric dots was created with a hand-punched paper stencil or katagami. See the video below to learn about those are made and used.

The obi goes so well with the kimono - similar color in a slightly larger-scale motif and a bit of shine.  It is a nagoya style obi with shimmering metallic gold in a woven diamond pattern. Nagoya obi have a specialized shape - folded and sewn to a 6-7" width for the portion that wraps around the waist but left wide (13-14") for about one yard at the end which would be tied into an elaborate bow. As is typical, the length that would be hidden beneath the obi's top layer is not patterned - in this case it is white, the same as the backside of the obi.

See the videos below to learn about obi and how to dress in kimono.
