This listing is for a vintage Japanese summer unlined kimono and obi combination. This style of kimono, called iromuji in Japanese, is typical of what would be worn by a practitioner of chado – traditional Japanese tea ceremony, see video below.

This very pale pink kimono features a soft, textured tone-on-tone jacquard pattern that shimmers like a gentle wind tracing across the water.  Being unlined and light (in weight and color) - this kimono would work well for a summer tea ceremony event.

We paired this kimono with a nagoya obi intricately woven in red and silver that seems to match the pink tone of the kimono. Nagoya style obi have a specialized shape - folded and sewn to a 6-7" width for the portion that wraps around the waist but left wide (13-14") for about one yard at the end which would be tied into an elaborate bow.

See the videos below to learn how to dress in kimono.
