This listing is a vintage Japanese uchiwa fan, the style that was commonly used during warm months at festivals, tea gatherings, or everyday life, while also serving as decorative art. 

Lightweight and quietly elegant, this traditional uchiwa fan combines simple craftsmanship with hand-painted decoration. The fan features a bamboo handle and rib structure covered in washi paper, with a painted cluster of grapes and vine leaves accented with touches of gold  --  a motif associated with later summer and abundance.

The reverse side includes handwritten calligraphy, seemingly the name of the artisan and possibly the name of the recipient.  

Minor edge wear and light discoloration are present, consistent with age and use.
