This listing is for a Japanese obiage - a scarflike length of silk that is an accessory for an obi worn in the traditional way or can be worn as a scarf! (See last photo for how these are worn traditionally.)

We purchased a large group of silk obiage in the colors shown.  Each has a shibori design - either tiny kaneko (fawn spot) dots or arranged in a floral or geometric pattern.

The ends are unfinished, as is typical.

The photos are examples only.  Choose the color you like from the menu when you order but sorry, you cannot choose a specific obiage.  Feel free to add a note to your order if you have a preference for the kaneko, floral, or geomentric design and we will choose accordingly, but cannot guarantee your preference.

All of these obiage feature the shibori pucker but can easily be ironed flat, which will expose the design more clearly.

The obiage measurements vary by a few inches but lengths range from 46"-54" and widths are typically 6"-7" at the tightly puckered section and 12"-14" on the ends and where it is not puckered.
