This listing is for a vintage Japanese summer kimono and obi combination. These are casual, unlined, and light weight kimono that could be worn during the humid days of summer. 

This semi-sheer kimono is a study in subtlety. There is a vertical bamboo pattern woven delicately in black on black. The subtlety in the weave invites the eye to follow the light and the shadow which seem to dance as the kimono moves. The weave does have a very subtle dark green sheen to it that was difficult to capture in photography.

We paired this kimono with a hanhaba (half width) obi in bright orange and yellow bands - like slivers of sunlight. This obi is 9 inches wide and 10 feet long. Possibly silk but has a stiffness that allows air to pass through the layers.
