This listing is for a full bolt of traditional Japanese fabric intended to be made into a hakata style casual obi sash.  This style is sometimes sold in half-width (called a hanhaba hakata obi) and is popular for men and women to wear with a casual kimono or yukata. 

Refined and balance, this vintage hakata obi bolt features a crisp ivory white background patterned with alternating bands of red. The geometrics offer a clean, timeless look. The classic hakata weave is durable with a soft gleam and structure.

The fabric is a thick weave that is both pliable and sturdy – perfect for being tied into an elaborate bow at the back of a kimono, and just a perfect as table or wall décor. Plenty of fabric to convert into home décor (pillows!) or an elegant jacket or coat…?
