We create these tapestries by salvaging a portion of a kimono when other sections of the garment are beyond repair or rescue. This listing is for a wall hanging tapestry made from an antique kimono. 

Clean, bold, and thoughtfully composed, this tapestry turns a classic bamboo motif into something graphic and modern. The design features bamboo stalks and leaves rendered with intentional shading, giving each leaf a dimensional, painted quality. The palette of red, green, and soft cream adds contrast, while the flowing water element adds movement and balance to the swaying bamboo. Bamboo represents resilience, flexibility, and quiet strength, bending without breaking, while water suggests adaptability and steady flow. 

There are signs of age showing a few blemishes consistent with the textile's vintage origin, adding to its character and history, see last photo.
