Happi coats are traditional Japanese festival jackets made from durable cotton and worn by groups to show identity and spirit during celebrations, performances, or community events.

A bold, classic festival (matsuri) jacket that makes an impact from every angle. This thick cotton happi coat features a dense black and white geometric background with a large, high-contrast kanji on the back which we are having a hard time translating!

Down the front lapels, the kanji reads Ryuin Taiko, likely referring to a taiko drumming group or performance name. The turned sleeve edge reveals a brown and white lattice grid pattern.
