Tiny geometric marks give this deep indigo man’s summer kimono a wonderfully understated, almost starry appearance. The airy woven fabric features repeating ikat-style circles and crosses, their softly blurred edges adding the subtle irregularity characteristic of resist-dyed threads. The cloth has a slightly crisp hand suggesting a bast fiber such as linen or ramie rather than smooth silk, both well suited to lightweight summer textiles.

It is largely unlined with a partial light-colored lining at the upper back, and a three-inch tuck at the waist provides extra fabric that could be let out if a longer finished length is desired.
