This listing is for a vintage - possibly antique - indigo kimono.

The heavy cotton fabric features a narrow vertical pinstripe pattern and yes, there are signs of age, natural fading, soft wear, and blemishes that could possibly be lightened with a gentle washing if desired. However, we think these qualities add warmth and authenticity rather than detract from its beauty.

You'll find boro patchwork in one spot - see photo - which nods to the value of this garment to its first owner.  We've categorized this as a woman's kimono but it's unisex.

We especially like the pieced lining - suggesting that it has been replaced (perhaps several times) during its decades of use.
