This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono and obi combination.

The kimono features a tone-on-tone jacquard of tiny flowers and curled leaves on a dusty pink silk. These single-color kimono - called iromuji - are often worn by tea ceremony practitioners because their subtle beauty adds gently to - rather than distracting from - the tea ceremony ritual. They may be worn for many similar occasions - any time where an understated elegance would be appreciated.

There is a single - somewhat unusual - family crest at the neck.  It seems to be both a flower and several cloves converging at its center.

The obi is a nagoya style with woven pink swirls against a black background. It is a summer-style of obi, with an open weave and white lining that creates an almost iridescent effect when the fabrics move against each other.

Nagoya obi have a specialized shape - folded and sewn to a 6-7" width for the portion that wraps around the waist but left wide (13-14") for about one yard at the end which would be tied into an elaborate bow.

See the videos below to learn about obi and how to dress in kimono.
