This listing is for one yard from a deadstock bolt of unsewn, unused vintage Japanese kimono fabric.

All black silk with a subtle tone-on-tone jacquard. Look closely to see the slightly raised pattern of torn or tattered paper called yabure-gami. This is a wabi-sabi aesthetic - the beauty of imperfection and the passage of time - as the scattered, ragged-edged squares suggest torn paper or precious fabric, which were collected and valued for centuries.

Great for piecework, especially when combined with other vintage kimono remnants. Continuous yardage may be available.
