Happi coats are traditional Japanese festival jackets made from durable cotton and worn by groups to show identity and spirit during celebrations, performances, or community events.

This gray happi coat features a striking crane in mid-flight across the upper back, rendered in warm tones of rust, orange, and golden brown. Beside the bird is a bold, black kanji meaning wealth or abundance -- a common auspicious symbol associated with good fortune.

A diagonal white lattice motif cuts across the lower half. The mustard-colored collar displays "churo", referring to a senior member or leadership role within a festival group. Look closely to see the small circular crane crests ln the front collar that echo the main design.

There are signs of age with small blemishes and light fading.

If you need a display rod to hang your purchase, we offer 60" wooden rods - see tab below.
