We create our Japanique Tapestries by upcycling what we can when other sections of the garment are beyond repair or rescue. This listing is for a wall hanging tapestry made from a vintage obi belt.

A single vine curves gracefully across a vivid red ground, drawing the eye into a soft spiral centered around a blooming peony. This tapestry highlights the peony’s layered petals and flowing leaves through beautiful embroidery. Peonies are often associated with prosperity, beauty, and good fortune, adding a meaningful layer to the piece.

It comes ready to hang with a sturdy cardboard rod (formerly the cardboard core of a kimono fabric bolt) and cording - both easily removable and replaceable to suit your space. We included another rod at the bottom for added weight but can be removed.
