We create these tapestries by salvaging a portion of a kimono when other sections of the garment are beyond repair or rescue. This listing is for a wall hanging tapestry made from a woman's antique kimono from the Taisho Period. 

Four peacocks parade across this warm, golden-brown background, creating quite an eye-catching scene. The design features a mix of richly colored and softly rendered birds, their long tail feathers fanning across the surface with delicate detail. Subtle touches of gold leaf highlight the feathers and add a soft shimmer that shifts with the light. Peacocks are associated with beauty, dignity, and protection, often symbolizing watchfulness and grace, while a grouping like this can suggest harmony and balance.

There are signs of age showing blemishes consistent with the textile's vintage origin, adding to its character and history, see last photo.
