We create these tapestries by salvaging a portion of a kimono when other sections of the garment are beyond repair or rescue. This listing is for a wall hanging tapestry made from a woman's kimono. 

A sweeping landscape of gold and blue sets the stage for this richly detailed floral composition, full of movement and depth. This piece combines flowing gold forms that obscure the sky-blue background.  An abundance of seasonal florals fill each shape: .chrysanthemums, maple leaves, waves, and mixed garden motifs are rendered in fine yuzen dye work, with delicate outlining and shading.  Couching and gold leaf add texture and a soft reflective shimmer. The interplay of gold and blue evokes both elegance and contrast, often associated with prosperity and calm, while the dense florals symbolize abundance and the beauty of the changing seasons.
