We create these tapestries by salvaging a portion of a kimono when other sections of the garment are beyond repair or rescue. This listing is for a wall hanging tapestry made from a woman's kimono. 

Full of color and movement, this tapestry pairs the crisp geometry of kikko (tortoiseshell hexagons) with layered seasonal florals and foliage. The design features hexagonal panels filled with traditional motifs, including chrysanthemum (longevity and renewal), plum blossoms (resilience and early spring), maple leaves (autumn beauty), bamboo (strength and flexibility), and stylized waves (endurance and flow). The kikko pattern itself is a symbol of longevity and stability, inspired by the shell of a tortoise, creating a meaningful contrast with the changing seasonal imagery.

There are signs of age showing a few blemishes consistent with the textile's vintage origin, adding to its character and history, see last photo.
