This listing is for a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). An uchikake is draped over top of a kakeshita kimono, left open without an obi, and has a padded at the hem as it was once meant to trail across the floor behind the bride. 

This kimono features layers upon layers of golden design - from the background of golden mums to the satin stitch of the spider mum petals to the thickly embroidered imperial wedding carts (called hanaguruma). Peonies, lotus, mums, wisteria, bellflowers, and more - all expertly embroidered to create an almost 3D effect.

The lining is red with a gold shimmer - this fabric was popular in the 1980s and adds a more contemporary look.
