This listing is for a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). An uchikake is draped over top of a kakeshita kimono, left open without an obi, and has a padded at the hem as it was once meant to trail across the floor behind the bride. 

This kimono is silver and gold on white, with such shimmer and shine that creates an elegant design that is unapologetically luxurious.  There is a subtle red-orange trim line at the padded hem which really anchors the piece for display.

The motif is matsu (pine branches) woven in a dozen bands across the bodice and sleeves - a classic, traditional motif that symbolizes long life, steadfastness and endurance (since pine trees keep their green all year long).
