This listing is for a vintage Japanese child's kimono meant for a young boy.  It is unlike the miyamairi version of a formal boy's kimono in that the patterning is continuous, but it would have been intended for a formal occasion.

This kimono features pairs of white cranes flying through a landscape of blue fog and a honeycomb grid of bell flower crests.  Long sleeves and sewn tucks that can be let out if more length (9") or width (3" on each side) is desired.

The background color is a soft buttercream, and the florals alternate in silver and gold.

Children's kimono come with two long ties sewn to each side of the front collar.  The right-side tie would be threaded behind the left side, through the opening under the arm, around the back, and tied with the tie from the left side. If you would prefer a casual sash to tie the kimono closed, we offer simple cotton versions as an add-on option.
