Description

This listing is for a vintage kimono made for a young girl to wear to a formal event.

It is white silk with a lightening motif jacquard. Floating along is a series of bright gold clouds (created with gold foil), and with red trim at the collar and sleeves. The featured item is the embroidered crest at the neck, which features the "Three Friends of Winter" (bamboo, plum blossom and pine) embroidered in soft colors. Children's kimono often come with two long ties sewn to each side of the front collar. The right-side tie would be threaded behind the left side kimono panel, through the opening under the arm, around the back, and tied with the tie from the left side. A belt, sash or obi would then be tied over that for a finished look. (We offer a simple cotton version of this as an add-on option.)

Although it makes a dazzling display, it is still quite wearable - but please check the measurements against the child to confirm the fit before ordering. Kimono run small and remember that some of the length would be taken up at the waist when belted.
