This listing is for a traditional underkimono (juban in Japanese) designed to be worn beneath a woman's kimono. 

This juban is a bit smaller and includes longer sleeves, suggesting this is meant for a young, unmarried woman to wear underneath a furisode kimono. It features a white and soft pink stenciled shibori pattern arranged in a small repeating grid. The embroidered collar adds contrast with small floral accents, giving it extra charm at the neckline. 

Underkimono make wonderful robes because they are cut shorter than outer kimono, so they do not have the extra length that is typically folded at the waist for traditional dressing. The lighter weight and streamlined shape make them easy to slip on and wear without added bulk. Perfect for the beach, poolside lounging, summer cover ups, or effortless layering at home or out and about.
