Description

This listing is for a vintage kimono made for a young girl. It is quite festive, brilliantly colored and features a collage of motifs that jumble into an eye-catching art piece. The bright colors, dense patterning, and the texture of the silk all suggest that this kimono is from the 1950s or earlier.

The background is a rich royal blue but the field is filled with dozens of colorful fan and floral clusters in a rainbow of vintage tones. Look closely to also see that the fans alternate with itomaki - the spools of thread used for weaving. Each element contains yet more traditional motifs - quite spectacular.

Lined in cotton - red on top and pink for the skirt section.

Although it makes a dazzling display, it is still quite wearable - but please check the measurements against the child to confirm the fit before ordering. Kimono run small and remember that some of the length would be taken up at the waist when belted.
