This listing is for a vintage Japanese wedding kimono (uchikake). An uchikake is draped over top your kimono/obi, left open, and padded at the hem as it is meant to trail across the floor in the back. 

This kimono features a deep red and gold woven background with a pattern of ornate folding fans - each filled with different floral arrangements. You'll see maple leaves, paulownia, peonies, bamboo, mums, pine, iris and more!

The design was artistically stenciled and painted with lots of gold leaf accents. Look closely at the lining to see tiny cranes woven in a tone-on-tone jacquard.
