This listing is for a woman's Japanese summer kimono - called a yukata. These are unlined cotton robes usually worn to casual gatherings or for summer festivals. Yukata are also sometimes offered to guests in Japanese inns and hotels. Yukata are popular these days as bath robes, beach or poolside cover ups, or for Japanese festivals or sushi parties anywhere in the world.

This vintage cotton yukata is a joyful collage of folding fans, each one filled with classic Japanese motifs like seigaiha (overlapping waves), blossoms, tortoise shells, and gentle river curls. The allover pattern feels lively and rhythmic, shifting from one fan to the next like a breeze turning pages in a storybook. A medium blue hue and soft white keep it light and summery.
