This listing is for a vintage Japanese maru-style obi.  Maru are usually the most expensive version of an obi since they are 14" wide for the full length and patterned on both sides, even though one side will never be seen by the public. Maru obi are worn for the most formal occasions, such as weddings.

Shimmering folding fan shapes arranged in horizontal bands are what catches your eye at first, but look closely to see bamboo, pine, floral, and seigaiha (overlapping wave) motifs as well.

A beautiful antique bronze and gold palette with grays, dark green, and dark red as accent colors.

At one end there is a slight tear that would not be noticed when wearing or displaying - see last photo.
