This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This tranquil blue haori jacket has the quiet beauty of a winter morning, with soft white branches that look like freshly fallen snow is resting on its slender twigs. There is a slight, soft crackle effect inside the white, suggesting a rice paste resist was used to create the design.

The blue silk has a raised tone-on-tone jacquard weave which creates a rippling surface that enhances the peaceful, wintry mood. Cool tones and seasonal elegance!

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
