This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This soft cream-colored haori jacket feels like stepping into a watercolor landscape, where gentle riverbanks, willow trees, and blooming foliage appear in calming pastel shades. The scene is created with a combination of subtle woven texture and delicate brush style details that shimmer across the hem.

Look closely to see that the design was woven into the silk and then lavender, blue, green, and warm russet tones were painted on top to create another artistic layer. Lightweight drape with dreamy, peaceful energy - wearable art!

As with many light-colored vintage garments, there are some blemishes (see last photo), but still quite beautiful!

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
