This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This charming terra cotta brown haori jacket invites you in with warm, earthy glow and a delightful surprise hidden inside. The exterior features a slightly textured tone-on-tone jacquard sprinkled with tiny star motifs that give the fabric quiet movement and depth. Open it up and you will find an endearing lining of plump, smiling children (ningyo dolls) painted in soft pastel tones. Lightweight silk, wearable, and full of personality!

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
