This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

From afar, this moss green haori looks like a soft, textured field. Up close, the intricate shibori (Japanese tie dye) work reveals tiny raised kanoko (fawn spot) dots that create a beautiful tactile surface. The design features repeating motifs - perhaps florals in planters? - with deep burgundy accenting, giving the piece balance and quiet sophistication. A wonderful example of mid-century Japanese craftsmanship in a soothing, natural palette.

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
