This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono, obi, and obijime combination.

Soft and impressionistic, this kimono is woven with gentle, horizontal striations in a medley of muted pastels—rosy mauve, sage green, dusty blue, and amber gold—blending like a watercolor landscape at dawn. The continuous, overall pattern and lack of specific motif suggests this kimono was suited for everyday wear and small gatherings.

In three places, there appears to be an irregularity in the dye work, which we think adds proof that the pattern was handmade.  See the last photos. We don't consider it a blemish, just added character!

The obi really pops - black with colorful diamond-shaped mums in several sizes, which adds the vibrance of a contemporary combination. This obi is nagoya style which have a specialized shape - folded and sewn to a 6-7" width for the portion that wraps around the waist but left wide (13-14") for about one yard at the end which would be tied into an elaborate bow.

The obijime is a round braid in a pale yellow.
