A sophisticated study in mossy green, soft gray, blue, brown, and gold, this men’s underkimono brings together iconic Japanese scenery and refined objects within a layered arrangement of folding fans.

The fans reveal snow-capped Mount Fuji, pine-covered landscapes, rocky mountains and traditional architecture alongside tea-related vessels and decorative ceramics.  Touches of gold add definition and richness. Mount Fuji symbolizes endurance and good fortune, while evergreen pine represents longevity and steadfastness.

A signature and seal appear beside one landscape, while a fine web-like pattern covers the background and a pale diamond lattice band provides a contrasting geometric accent around the lower body.

Juban often feature designs that reflect the interests of their owner but are rarely seen in public since they are layered underneath a kimono. Just an inch or two of the over-collar is visible, though you may catch a glimpse of the sleeve edge at the wrist. Juban make great casual robes.

This kimono does not come with an obi/belt/sash, but we do make simple cotton sashes that can be added as an option when you order. We will choose a color that goes well with it.
