This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This vintage haori has a calm, poetic presence, featuring two beautifully embroidered scenes of blue flowers cascading beside a small, thatched roof hut and flowing water. The black silk creates a night sky backdrop that makes the blue tones glow softly, giving the embroidery a dreamlike quality. Each motif is finely stitched with delicate shading that brings the petals and water lines to life. Look closely to see the water is actually an open weave in the fabric. This jacket drapes smoothly and feels luxurious - perfect for elegant styling.

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
