This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This vintage jacket has a serene, almost cinematic beauty, featuring a subtle embroidered scene of plants embroidered in shades of blue along a flowing stream. The design sits low on the hem for a refined, understated effect that rewards a closer look. The black silk is accented with metallic threads that create a soft sheen and light-catching glitter, but it is subtle, not overpowering. A single, stitched family crest at the back adds formality and tradition. 

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
