This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) that we modified slightly to allow for a roomier fit on larger frames. 

This vintage jacket has a gentle, poetic charm, decorated with softly colored falling oak leaves that suggest a quiet breeze passing through a grove of trees. The leaves are rendered in pale greens, yellows, and soft blues for a watercolor effect that stands out beautifully against the slightly textured black silk. Woven tone-on-tone leaf motifs appear as well as an overall speckle, adding depth and richness without overwhelming the scattered colors. A single, stitched family crest at the back adds formality and tradition.

In our Oki Haori Line (oki means "big" in Japanese) of modified haori jackets, we open up the gusset and underarm seams and then re-attached them using every inch of the salvage seam edges. This yields up to additional inches in the waist, hip, and bust measurements.

Whereas unmodified haori tend to be narrower at the bust because the side gussets gradually narrow from waist to bust, our Oki Haori do not taper at the bust, which gives you more coverage in front. Compare your measurements to those given, keeping in mind that the measurements we give are the haori measurements, not a recommendation for the wearer's measurements.
