This listing is for a vintage Japanese furoshiki - a very handy, sturdy, multi-use wrapping cloth used in Japan.

This furoshiki comes folded to resemble a kimono - and we have not been brave enough to unfold it.  So while we know it is a furoshiki and we assume the size to be about 25", it might be larger.  We assume that one side is the mustard gold and the other side is a deep pine green, but we don't know where the small patterned fabric (it could be paper) that we see at the collar comes from.  If you like surprises....

Comes in the original box.

Artistic furoshiki (often silk) are traditionally used as gift wrap but also make creative wall or table displays. Furoshiki in solid colors or with printed patterns (often cotton or rayon) are more casual versions used for shopping, transporting goods, or storing items at home. These days furoshiki are popular as upcycled grocery totes or to carry whatever we used to carry in a non-recyclable plastic bag. For more about furoshiki and ideas of how to wrap, watch the video below.

Furoshiki are typically a bit longer on one side than the other. See tabs below for more details about this particular furoshiki.
