This listing is for an underkimono - called a "juban" in Japanese - which would be worn under a man's kimono. Juban often feature designs that reflect the interests of their owner but are rarely seen in public since they are layered underneath a kimono. Just in inch or two of the over-collar is visible, though you may catch a glimpse of the sleeve edge at the wrist. Juban make great casual robes.

This juban features karajishi or fu dogs which are protective mythical lions in Buddhism. Several of these lions - each with a curling mane and tail - float atop what could be a layer of tiny stones. Scattered, rounded diamonds in white and black are stenciled to mimic the shibori technique.

The over-collar is black. No lining.

This kimono does not come with an obi/belt/sash, but we do make simple cotton sashes that can be added as an option when you order. We will choose a color that goes well with it.
